Straightening process

The straightening machine straightens sheet panels up to 50 mm thickness, steel belts and also thin transparencies before they get to continued processing. For this the sheet is inserted between the rollers. The rollers perform several curves with decreasing bends, as you can see above. The number of straightening rollers depends on the desired straightening result. Straightening belts which have warping in direction of rolling and across, is the most difficult point. In this case minimum one precision straightening machine is essential. Repeating the straightening process multiple might be necessary to eliminate the multi-axle stress conditions in the sheet. The best results you can reach with precision straightening machines which are low in strain and equipped with roll deflection. That’s why LORENZ straightening machines are provided with high bending stiffness and tensile rigidity. The overall development is based on 50 years of experience.

Pass straightening

For this the material thickness is adjusted at the input and discharge of the machine. Suitable values are calculated at the comfort control or you can find it on the infeed diagram. Straightening the material is in passing direction.


Edgewise straightening

At this mode the belt is additional straightened by sabers. This effect is occurred by clamping the belt before and after the straightening machine. The edgewise is placed at the discharge and is driven from the middle. But the actual edgewise effect occurs in the straightening machine because the material is in plastic area.

Roll deflection

This is the most complex straightening way. Belts which don’t have the same thickness over the complete width and so different lengths, show a cross curve of the belt. Here is a difference between ripple at the edge or in the middle. A straightening machine with roll deflection is necessary to correct the defect. The roll deflection offers an infeed of single carrier roll bracket.

9-roller straightening machine

9-roller straightening machine is necessary to straighten coil bends. But the coil bend should always have the same bend scale. Adjust the straightening machine when the degree changes or increase. It is not possible to get the same straightening result from external and internal coil caliber. Also available tense in the material are not reduced.

21-roller straightening machine

21-roller precision straightening machine serves for straightening the discharge material completely straight. The size of coil bend doesn’t play a matter. The machine can even straight alternate bending. The advantage of precision straightening machine is that the tenses in the coil material are reduced so that a further processing is possible.

Belt straightening machines are used in complete constructions where belts are straightened in throughput.
